Sociology and Cinema

I really don't know what i want to study in future, i have some ideas, but a i don't believe much in what i think because i'm confident that it will change in a few years, even i'm not sure why i'm studying sociology.
A thing that i hate of my career is the elitization of the content. i mean that i will write a study of some theme, and may could be a very good work, but the only people that will read it will be sociologists. So, all my work will be intended to people that belongs to an academical elite? I don't want that, i'm sure of that. Consequently, i'd like to focus my effort and studies to socialize my investigation and reach to the largest possible number of people.
I love cinema, not only the films, but also the audiovisual direction, production, acting, soundtrack, screenplay, etc. I really would like to learn that but I always see that like a dream, but following the previous idea, I believe that cinema is a very effective way to broaden the sociological investigation, make it fun and reachable. Sometimes i imagine ways to ilustrate sociological theorys in movies and i believe that is very possible to do it, a lot a films include complex themes and theorys of diferent subjects, so why not?
I’m really thinking in study cinema in the Universidad de Chile after earn some money as sociologist, but that big decisions are hard to make, and like I said at the beginning, maybe I will have an completely different idea in a few years.
